Theme Description
A common perception among educators is that academic research about Islamic schools doesn’t actually benefit the schools themselves. Yet, if you ask a researcher, their findings are critically important for Islamic school growth and development.
The symposium has a simple (yet important) aspiration: To ask researchers who study Islamic schools why and how their research matters.
As the field of Islamic schooling continues to blossom, the opportunity for educators and researchers to dialogue is ever more important. Educators understand the contexts, challenges and aspirations of Islamic schools deeply. And researchers of Islamic schools offer insightful readings of the field that may contribute to the renewal of our schools. This symposium proposes a dialogue between these two very important vantage points.
Why Research Matters
We invite seasoned and emerging academics and researchers who have published (or planning to publish) about Islamic schools to submit an abstract for consideration.
