One of the things we do at ISLA is cultivate relationships with institutions that will enrich our educators, students, and institutions.
Alhamdulillah, by Allah’s Mercy and through these efforts, ISLA and The Islamic Seminary of America (TISA) have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that allows for ISLA members to nominate from ISLA’s network of schools and educators to apply to TISA and receive a tuition-free scholarship to complete the degree program of choice!
We are excited to announce the availability of *TWO* Tuition-Free Scholarships for ISLA educators this fall. ISLA is requesting that all nominees be sent to us by Friday, August 4, and the potential nominee completes their TISA enrollment application by Friday, August 11.
The steps to proceed with this amazing opportunity are as follows:
1. Send in a nomination (a school leader, colleague, or self-nominate):
- School leaders, colleagues, or individuals send their nominations via email to info@theisla.masjidapps.net by August 4
- The subject of the email should say “ISLA-TISA Scholarship”
- The body of the email should state:
- Nominator’s person’s info: Name, professional title, amount of years they know the nominee, and in what capacity
- Nominee’s info: Name, email address, role at school, and 1-3 sentences/bullet points while you are nominating the person (or yourself)
- Be sure to check first with the nominee if they are interested and serious about a degree from TISA, as they will only receive the scholarship if/after they are admitted to TISA through the regular application process.
2. ISLA will send our nominations to TISA by August 7, inshallah
3. Concurrently, nominees should apply to TISA:
- Complete the regular TISA student application at https://islamicseminary.us/
regular-student-application/ and pay a $15 application fee by August 11 to be considered for their scholarship
4. The application is reviewed and, if accepted by the regular TISA admissions process, is identified as a recipient of the scholarship
5. The awardee receives a notice that they were accepted with the scholarship, and they then sign up for 1-4 courses for Fall ’23
Additional points of note:
- The scholarship is tuition-free as long as the student maintains a B- GPA or better
- The student is responsible for paying for travel, books needed supplies, and a required $10 administrative fee due from each semester
