Corporate Member Highlight – Cresent Moon

In our November Newsletter, we are delighted to showcase Crescent Moon, one of our esteemed corporate members. Their expertise lies in curating high-quality books tailored for Muslim children worldwide, bringing stories from various corners of the globe to families everywhere. We reached out to them to provide insights into their work, and here’s what they’re eager to share with you!

How would you describe what Crescent Moon does?

      • Crescent Moon is the leading online children’s Islamic bookstore. I import from Muslim-owned businesses across the globe, the highest quality and engaging educational books and products to help our future ummah strengthen their love of Islam and the Creator. The ability to curate these items and verify through scholars the validity of the contents is what sets my store apart from others.

Something that motivated you to start your organization.

      • After being a new mother of 2 under 2, and not finding within the U.S., it was difficult to find the right resources to teach them the Quran or Arabic. When my oldest son was 2, he had a blood clot in his brain and I truly made dua that if Allah SWT would save him I would make sure that I would reach as many children as possible to help them learn about Him and the Quran. Alhamdulillah, he was saved and is a healthy boy 8 years later. He has blessed me with the ability to offer so many wonderful tools to help other families.

What product are you most proud of?

      • It’s like choosing a favorite child! I know of 2 that have benefited families the most. The first is Migo & Ali: Love for the Prophets which encompasses 15 different prophet stories told from the perspective that a child can easily understand with vibrant illustrations and fun text. The second is My First Quran with Translations and Pictures Juz Amma which line by line helps a child understand as well as memorize surahs. Families have told me that both of these have made the biggest impact on their children’s Islamic education.

Share one thing that you would like everyone to know about.

    • Alhamdulillah, I hold Islamic School Book Fairs nationwide and this has been a huge success. With the emergence of LGBTQ and other materials finding their way into our children’s books and lives from an early age, the need for book fairs that are screened to align with content appropriate for Muslim families was necessary. About 4 years ago, I was approached by several schools to do just so. Now, I help over 100+ schools per year with our successful book fairs across the country.
    • Crescent Moon holds a special place in my heart and it does come from that dua to make the next ummah better. Monthly, I donate proceeds to Muslim children’s charity organizations like the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund, HCI Islamic Relief, and several others throughout the year. I take pride in being a Muslim Palestinian-American and want children to be able to see themselves represented in stories from all walks of life.
