A Contest for Muslim Middle School Students

Are you Ready?  Our 2nd Annual AAAMH Contest Open for Submissions on January 16th

It’s Back! ISLA is excited to be hosting the African Muslim & African-American Muslim History Contest for the 2nd year.  All Muslim middle schoolers in the USA are invited to research and submit a Google slide presentation about an African Muslim or African American Muslim that made an important contribution.

This is a great opportunity for students to learn about the crucial contributions that African & African-American Muslims have made.

Key 2023 Contest Dates

  • January 16th – Contest opens for submissions.
  • February 8th – All entries MUST be submitted before Midnight ET
  • February 25th – 4:00 pm ET – Virtual Awards Ceremony. Winners will be announced at this event!

Share the information with your family members, colleagues, local Islamic school, local Islamic weekend school, and on social media!  We would love to have ALL Muslim youth in America participate in this contest, and to attend the virtual awards ceremony!

Key Contest Rules

  • Only Muslim students in 6th, 7th or 8th grades are eligible to participate.
  • All students must reside in the USA and be attending a US-based school.
  • The individual that has been researched  MUST BE A MUSLIM from an African or African-American background.
  • References must be provided for all information and photos.

Reasons for Project Disqualifications

(Projects disqualified will NOT be judged, and will NOT receive certificates of participation)

  • Student is not a US Muslim Middle Schooler
  • Project submitted after midnight ET on February 18th
  • References not provided for all information (including pictures) and/or use AI generated content
  • Project on an individual who is NOT Muslim or NOT from an African or African-American background

Prizes

  • All qualified participants will receive an electronic certificate of participation
  • All winners will receive a cash prize (gift card) AND
MuslimKidsTV will be providing the following to all contest winners:
1) Option to have their winning slide presentation animated and published on MuslimKidsTV
2) OR option to receive an internship(unpaid) to work with MKTV in creating a storyboard for a short video on an African Muslim or African-American Muslim historical/current figure.

2nd Annual AAAMH Virtual Award Ceremony
