ISLA believes that relevant data can us make better decisions regarding our own Islamic schools. Over the past several weeks, ISLA has been releasing statistics and updates from the ISLA Profile of Islamic School Survey administered in 2022-23 about the average salaries and qualifications of educators in Islamic schools. These reports and stats from the ISLA survey can be found here.
Another important data source that provides a sort of “benchmarking” for Islamic schools is provided in a powerpoint below. This presentation was given at the March 2024 CAPE meeting by researchers from the National Center for Educational Statistics, which is the main agency that collects and analyzes data related to education in the United States.
The report contains important data about the salaries of private vs public school principals and teachers. It also highlights important insights into the kind of work that principals and teachers spend most of their working hours on.
We encourage administrators and educators to look through this presentation to help them make informed decisions in their own schools and professional careers.
