Intervention Specialist

The Academy is a charter non-public school in the State of Ohio. It is licensed to serve students in preschool through 8th grade and is dedicated to cultivating excellence in education. The school is in West Chester, Ohio, close to I75 exit 22. Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in education
2. Ohio Department of Education licensure as an Intervention Specialist
3. Ability to work with diverse groups
4. Computer skills for maintaining student records and reports
5. Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Position Description:

The Intervention Specialist will assist teachers, school administrators and other school personnel on the Student Support Team (SST) to:

1. Identify the foundational areas of need for assigned students.
2. Determine research-based interventions that meet the identified needs of students.
3. Determine validated progress monitoring tools that will measure student growth.
4. Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions and make recommendations for any changes or improvements.
5. Participate in IEP meetings and write goals and objectives for students .
6. Participate with specialists and the SST to develop an appropriate, effective transdisciplinary approach to meet the individual needs of students.
7. Communicate regularly with parents and professional staff regarding the educational, social, behavioral, personal, and adaptive needs of students.
