Job Summary : Al-Salam Day School located in St. Louis, Missouri is looking for dedicated and certified teachers to fill multiple positions and fulfill the mission of the school. Positions open are:

1. Secondary ELA
2. Secondary Social Studies
3. Secondary Science
4. P.E.
5. Primary Qu’ran and Islamic Studies
6. Secondary Qur’an and Islamic Studies
7. Kindergarten Homeroom
8. First Grade Homeroom
9. School Counselor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : 

1. Support of school mission and culture
2. Timely attendance
3. Positive Team Player
4. Developing lesson plans and curriculum
5. Collaborate with other staff to develop lesson plans, teaching strategies and interventions.
6. Prepare students for formal and informal assessments
7. Grading tests, quizzes and assignments in a timely manner
8. Communicate effectively and regularly with parents and students regarding performance
9. Aware of current events and incorporate them into lessons to make them more relevant
10. Ensure all grade level requirements are met
11. Assessing students’ needs and providing support or extra resources to struggling students as well as exceptional achievers
12. Expanding teachers networks and participating in workshops, lectures and other learning opportunities.

Requirements : 

1. Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline
2. Master’s Degree preferred
3. Relevant certification
4. Ability to multitask in high stress environments
